“Lil” is a ritual of taming the mystery of the shadow and invoking its potential. The artist attempts to embody darkness. It adapts to ignorance, it persists in decline. Together with the playwright Konrad Kurowski, he invites you to experience together the beauty of the vastness of darkness.

The starting point for starting work on the project was Marta Wołowiec’s two-week residency in Lebanon. For over a dozen years, this country has been facing one of the largest economic and humanitarian crises in the world, caused, among others, by the the war in Syria. In August 2020, there was also an explosion in the port of Beirut, the rubble of which is still present in the cityscape. Recurring power outages, known as blackouts, have become an eloquent symbol of Lebanon.

Premiere performance shows could be experienced at two different times of the day, at the beginning of the Krakow Dance Festival at 10:00 pm in the evening and at its end at 10:00 am in the morning.
