About

Around Centre Group is an artistic collective, working within the Krakow Choreographic Centre. The core of the Group are dancers: Agata Moląg, Monika Świeca and Marta Wołowiec. The collective produces its own performances, collaborates with artist from Poland and abroad in the art projects, takes care of the events carried out by the Krakow Choreographic Centre and conducts regular classes of contemporary dance.

The idea of Group grew out of a genuine necessity for experimentation, exploration, inspiration and a passion for diversity in the building the scenic massage. We believe that only meetings, and sometimes even a clash between different aesthetics of movement and views on art can establish a new quality. We are interested in what appears out of these actions, in the meeting point.

We acquire our goals by aiming at what is private, not dramatic, quasi-theatrical. We search for art in simplicity, we narrate with the quotations from life, we look for quality and value in movement. We have never forgotten that we are dancers so the movement is our main tool.

The first artistic declaration was the premiere of “Makia” performed by Marta Wołowiec and Monika Świeca, choreographed by Agata Moląg. Currently, in the Group’s repertoire there are also performances: “Mourners” and “Celsius 38” presented on stage and in the street version.
