Megan Bridge in the Krakow Choreographic Centre!

We have a spontaneous but very interesting meeting with Megan Bridge in the Krakow Choreogaphic Centre. Feel free to come!

1. We invite you to see two solo performances of Megan Bridge and join the talk after on Wednesday 27 November at 7 p.m. in the KCC Studio, Nowa Huta Cultural Centre

MORPHIC RESONANCE / MEGAN BRIDGE
PERFORMANCE / DISCUSSION
tickets: 25 PLN

Megan Bridge (<fidget>, Philadelphia) presents two solo works, followed by an informal talk on the lineages of improvisation and experimentation in post-Judson American Dance.
Morphic Resonance is a solo improvisation performed by dancer/choreographer Megan Bridge, with original music by Peter Price.* In this research-based performance project, a solo dancing body is set into resonance with the sound and space that surround it. Price’s ambient, droning electronic soundscapes are punctuated by percussive loops. Bridge builds movement worlds like architectures that are both kinesthetically expansive and minutely precise.
Bridge also presents her newest solo work, (Un)Locking McClary. In 1987, feminist musicologist Susan McClary likened Beethoven’s music, and in particular his 9th Symphony, to rape. This dance proposes a counter-argument.
Following these two dances, Bridge will lead a discussion on improvisation and experimentation in post-Judson American Dance. Bridge has worked closely with Steve Paxton and Lisa Nelson, has performed the works of Lucinda Childs and David Gordon, and has studied with Deborah Hay. In this informal chat, Bridge brings her experience with these experimental artists into the room, sharing her observations about their approaches to task-based movement, embodiment, and presence.
*Peter Price will not play live for this performance
