The performance Ślad ślimaka (The Snail’s Trail) was created following an invitation extended to Alicja Czyczel by the Krakow Choreographic Centre.
Alicja’s residency included workshops for young people titled Kręcimy film na Łąkach (We Make a Film in the Meadows), the collaborative creation of a film with the workshop participants, as well as the development of the performance at Łąki Nowohuckie.
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:
Alicja Czyczel—an artist working between choreography and post-artistic practices focused on co-creating embodied relationships with the surrounding environment—invites audiences to spend time at Łąki Nowohuckie.
The artist explores human immersion in the landscape, the attunement of the senses to atmospheric phenomena, and modes of coexisting with nature. She seeks forms of dancing, listening, and sensing that enable the creation of interspecies relationships and the experience of their transformative potential.
Due to their vastness and diversity, Łąki Nowohuckie will host the outdoor performance Ślad ślimaka, becoming one of the protagonists of the choreography.
ABOUT THE FILM:
Together with the participants of the youth project Kręcimy film na Łąkach (We Make a Film in the Meadows), Alicja Czyczel spent time actively observing the biologically rich and picturesque site of Łąki Nowohuckie—bordering the former Vistula riverbed to the south and the centre of Nowa Huta to the north.
The movie had it’s premiere during Krakow Dance Festival 2025.
