Victoria about workshop:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eI see movement as a\nsound system with so many different parameters that can play on the way of\nmoving. Within a journey through improvisation, I like to awaken all the\nsenses, and the full body awareness to become a very articulate body in motion.\nEach session has a different approach that has been inspired from my\nbackground, the people I meet and work with, my current personal research, the\nenergy of the day and of the group\u2026 the space then becomes a place where\neverything is possible. Through a solo form at the beginning of the research,\nwe will search for a particular, precise, and complex way of dancing, mixing\ndifferent layers of levels, musicality, emotion, breathing, images, muscle\ntension\u2026 but always focusing on here and now, with playfulness. Pushing\nperformativity with an articulated body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second part of\nthe research, after pushing curiosity and having worked on a complex solo form,\nwe will focus on instant composition, and group thinking. How we can compose\nthe space in different structures and with different tasks; paying attention to\nwhat the group need. We will try to see how to create a complex situation,\ninteresting from the inside and outside. It is strongly linked with a\nperformative aspect that we will push further. It\u2019s all about sharp decisions,\nand understanding timing, without forgetting the body. What do we do, where and\nhow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The whole research\/class\nis open to professional dancers, amateurs, non-dancers that are curious about\nmovement, and movement artist or worker. Building awareness is one of my first\npriority; as in self-awareness, group awareness, spatial awareness and even in\nthose 3 categories there are so many more to discover. Opening up a frame and\nan open space for students to experience, try, fail, retry, succeed, maybe \u2013 in\na safe environment, where everything is possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VICTORIA KENNETT <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After her education at\nthe Choreographic Center James Carl\u00e8s in Toulouse, Victoria started to work\nwith the company La Colombe Enrag\u00e9e, on a creation \u201cEveil\u201d. During and through\nher education she performed cabaret in different places and companies (during 5\nyears) which gave her a lot of stage experience. As a freelance dance artist,\nshe took many diverse workshops in contemporary dance though Europe. She joined\nthe MoDem intensive program of Compania Zappala Danza, in Sicily and stayed\nthere for the young company CZD, working on repertoire of CZD and a quartet\ncreation \u201cIntrecciato\u201d by Milan Tomasik. She worked with Polish Dance Theater\nfor the season 2018-2019, touring with repertoire pieces such as Zniwa, Wesele, No More Tears, 40; and took\npart in the creation of Obiecana Ziemia Obiecana directed by Katarzyna\nRaduszewska and choreographed by Artur Bienkowski; and also in \u201cSledztwo\u201d by\nMikolaj Mikolajczyk. Currently, working on a duet \u201cZugwang\u201d choreographed by\nArtur Bienkowski (PL), a solo \u201cTeach yourself to fly co-created by the same\nchoreographer, and a quartet by Aviaja Dance Company (DK). The past year Victoria has been developing\nher teaching activity, an improvisation class based on the idea of \u201chere and\nnow\u201d, building self-awareness, group awareness and spatial awareness, in a\nplayful and articulated way, mixing many different influences from her teachers\nand the artists she collaborated with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After workshop, in the evening,\nwe would like to invite you also for the premiere of our this year\u2019s resident\nArtur Bie\u0144kowski. His choreography entitled \u201eTeach yourself to fly\u201d performed\nby Victoria, was chosen by KCC team as the most interesting proposition worthy\nto support in the production process. Artur and Victoria were practicing within\nKCC studio space during this November and the effect of their work you can see\nnow, for oneself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
