We are pleased to invite you to the next edition of Gaga\/dancers and Physical Dance camp – summer workshops with Noa Paran, former Batsheva Ensemble dancer and certified Gaga teacher and Roser L\u00f3pez Espinosa \u2013 Spanish dancer, choreographer and physical dance teacher.<\/p>\n

She gives classes to the Batsheva Ensemble and taught in the Gaga Teacher Training Program. She also teaches regularly in the Gaga\/people classes in Israel and in dance schools and workshops in Israel and around the world.<\/p>\n Noa received a Bachelor of Design degree from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.<\/p>\n GAGA<\/strong><\/p>\n Gaga<\/strong> is a movement language which Ohad Naharin developed over the course of many years and which is applied in daily practice and exercises by the Batsheva Dance Company members.\u00a0 The language of Gaga originated from the belief in the healing, dynamic, ever-changing power of movement.<\/p>\n Gaga is a new way of gaining knowledge and self-awareness through your body. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Gaga raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement, and it allows for an experience of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, each person with himself and others.<\/p>\n Gaga\/dancers<\/strong> is open to professional dancers and dance students.<\/p>\n \u201cGaga challenges multi-layer tasks.<\/p>\n We are aware of the connection between effort and pleasure,\u00a0 we are aware of the distance between our body parts, we are aware of the friction between flesh and bones, we sense the weight of our body parts, yet, our form is not shaped by gravity . . . We are aware of where we hold unnecessary tension, we let go only to bring life and efficient movement to where we let go . . . We are turning on the volume of\u00a0 listening to our body, we appreciate small gestures, we are measuring and playing with the texture of our flesh and skin, we might be silly, we can laugh at ourselves.\u00a0 We connect to the sense of \u201cplenty of time,\u201d especially when we move fast, we learn to love our sweat, we discover our passion to move and connect it to effort, we discover both the animal we are and the power of our imagination.\u00a0 We are \u201cbody builders with a soft spine.\u201d<\/p>\n We learn to appreciate understatement and exaggeration, we become more delicate and we recognize the importance of the flow of energy and information through our body in all directions.\u00a0 We learn to apply our force in an efficient way and we learn to use \u201cother\u201d forces.<\/p>\n We discover the advantage of soft flesh and sensitive hands, we learn to connect to groove even when there is no music.<\/p>\n We are aware of people in the room and we realize that we are not in the center of it all. We become more aware of our form since we never look at ourselves in a mirror; there are no mirrors.\u00a0 We connect to the sense of the endlessness of possibilities.\u00a0 Yielding is constant while we are ready to snap . . .<\/p>\n We explore multi-dimensional movement, we enjoy the burning sensation in our muscles,\u00a0 we are aware of our explosive power and sometimes we use it.\u00a0 We change our movement habits by finding new ones, we can be calm and alert at once.<\/p>\n We become available . . .\u201d<\/p>\n – Ohad Naharin<\/p>\n Ohad Naharin has been hailed as one of the world\u2019s preeminent contemporary choreographers. \u00a0As Artistic Director of Batsheva Dance Company since 1990, he has guided the company with an adventurous artistic vision and reinvigorated its repertory with his captivating choreography. \u00a0His works have also been performed by prominent companies including Nederlands Dans Theater, the Paris Opera Ballet, Les Grand Ballets Canadiens de Montr\u00e9al, Compa\u00f1\u00eda Nacional de Danza (Spain), Cullberg Ballet (Sweden), Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet (New York), and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (New York). \u00a0Naharin is also the originator of an innovative movement language, Gaga, which has enriched his extraordinary movement invention, revolutionized the company\u2019s training, and emerged as a growing force in the larger field of movement practices for both dancers and non-dancers.<\/p>\n fot. LuisCastilla2013<\/p>\n Graduated in contemporary dance in the MTD \u2013 Theaterschool \/ Higher School of Arts in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In 2005 she is awarded a danceWEB scholarship in Vienna and trains with former Olympic gymnastics coach Jaume Mir\u00f3. She has danced in The Netherlands with Katie Duck\u2019s Magpie Company, Marta Reig Torres and Pere Faura. In Barcelona she has worked with \u00c0ngels Margarit \/ Cia Mudances, as well with Cesc Gelabert and film maker Isaki Lacuesta, Iago Pericot or Bebeto Cidra, among others. Her own creation work has received international recognition with prizes at Masdanza Festival (Solo First Prize), Burgos-NY and Madrid choreography contests and has been selected for European tour Aerowaves. She premieres\u00a0Lowland<\/em>\u00a0in 2013 in Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona), piece that keeps touring internationally at present. In 2014 she makes\u00a0Hand to hand<\/em>, a production of Dutch company Conny Janssen Danst in co-production of Dansateliers. She premieres\u00a0November<\/em>\u00a0in 2015 in co-production with Dansateliers Rotterdam and makes\u00a0The flock<\/em>\u00a0for 18 dancers for MTD2 in Amsterdam in 2016. She is an associated artist of La Caldera creation centre in Barcelona. She is a regular teacher at the Dance Conservatory of Barcelona \/ Institut del Teatre, a guest teacher at MTD in Amsterdam and ArtEZ Dansacademie in Arnhem (The Netherlands) and teaches workshops internationally. Her work has been programed at main European international festivals as well as in Egypt, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Canada and Japan.<\/p>\n Workshops’ description:<\/p>\n These classes propose a technical work approaching movement from an articulated, soft, agile, fast and powerful body. We take advantage of the movement capacity of the spine as a motor: curves, spirals, twists, riples and combined ondulating movements. We go through floor work, with rolls, glides, simple acrobatic movements and jumps. We awaken the tuning and the sense of team to create together fast trajectories in space.
