We invite you to the opening of the restorative installation \u201cEmbrace Senses\u201d<\/em> by Dominika Wiak, Anna Oramus, and Yana Maroz, accompanied by music by \u00c9liane Radigue. The installation will be available twice, and prior to its opening there will be a conversation on how neurodivergent audiences experience art, featuring Marcin Matuszewski and Dominika Wiak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT THE INSTALLATION:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEmbrace Senses\u201d<\/strong><\/em> is a restorative installation that explores the relationship between sensory regulation and the experience of neurodiversity. The work was created to provide a safe space for shared rest for both neurotypical and neurodivergent people (including ADHD and autism spectrum).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dominika Wiak, herself an ADHD-spectrum individual, together with the project\u2019s co-creators examines the process of designing a soothing, calming experience. The titular \u201cembrace\u201d refers to the gesture of hugging \u2014 oneself, one\u2019s own perception, and one\u2019s current psychophysical state \u2014 without the need to correct it. The installation is a place where different modes of perception can coexist without the need to adapt to normative patterns of attention and presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT TO EXPECT:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before entering the installation, we will invite you to take part in a short sensory exercise. We will also ask you to remove your shoes.
A performer will guide you into the space. This will be a brief and gentle interaction.
The experience lasts approximately 35 minutes.
However, you may leave earlier at any time.
Toward the end, silence will appear as a signal that the installation has concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The space includes:<\/strong>
\u2022 soft cushions for lying down or sitting
\u2022 objects that can be touched<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stimuli in the installation are:<\/strong>
\u2022 calm
\u2022 repetitive
\u2022 low-intensity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no:<\/strong>
\u2022 sudden changes in lighting
\u2022 loud sounds
\u2022 obligation to have physical contact with others<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR EXPERIENCE:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wear comfortable, warm clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may:
\u2022 lie down
\u2022 sit
\u2022 change your body position
\u2022 close your eyes
\u2022 take a break or leave<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can regulate the amount of sensory input yourself by closing your eyes or using earplugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
