The inspiration for the performance was the photo exhibition “I know not these my hands” by Cooper and Gorfer, whose main characters are women, their hands, eyes, skin and clothes, telling about their identity and experiences. Where is my place in art? What do I want to share with you? Where does my sensitivity touch your sensitivity? And why only energy allows us to get closer to each other?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putting these questions in a slightly broader context through the provocative image of the creation of a woman, referring to Michelangelo’s fresco, draws attention to the fundamental differences resulting from the general perception of gender, ascribing to them given characteristics and duties shaped by social fabrics that can create a deformed image of the world. The performance transforms various types of female energy, from subtlety, Renaissance beauty and strength, to brutality and honesty, building the intimacy of each meeting with the viewer. She denies stereotypes by taking up the subject of creation and the creative act in the context of contemporary dance, in the history of which women have played a significant role. The subsequent elements of the performance transform the beliefs about the way of coping with difficulties and the ability to solve problems by taking matters into one’s own hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
